γνῶθι σεαυτόν
Normalien Student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Ulm, Paris), french philosopher, clinical psychologist, doctor in psychopathology (PhD).
Expert and speaker in psychopathology and political philosophy, Ariane Bilheran wrote many books in philosophy, psychology, personal development, literature for adults y children.
Biography
Ariane Bilheran is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Ulm), a philosopher and clinical psychologist with a doctorate in psychopathology and clinical psychology. A prolific author and tireless investigator, for over twenty-five years she has studied the psychology of power, deviant powers and their methods (harassment, control, manipulation, etc.) and the restoration of personal power.
Initially trained in Classics (CAPES, Master's degree at Sorbonne-Paris IV), and with a passion for Latin/Greek, she is an alumnus of the École Normale Supérieure de la rue d'Ulm.
In literature, she did her Master's research at the Sorbonne on the work of Flaubert, and historical vs. literary narration (dir.: Pr. Françoise Mélonio).
She also has a background in moral and political philosophy (Master at Sorbonne-Paris I, dir.: Pr. Éric Blondel), as well as in clinical psychology and psychopathology (Professional Master at Université Lyon II — double major in social psychology — and Université Aix-Marseille I, as well as Research Master at Université Denis Diderot-Paris VII, and Doctorate at Université Lumières-Lyon II, dir: Pr. Albert Ciccone).
Her research in moral and political philosophy has focused on the illness of civilization in Nietzsche's work, and on totalitarianism.
Ariane Bilheran worked (2000-2007) in preparatory classes to prepare students for competitive examinations (general culture, French: preparation for oral examinations for the grandes écoles) — Lycée Henri IV (Paris), Lycée Janson de Sailly (Paris), Lycée Thiers (Marseille).
In clinical psychology and psychopathology, she first specialized in abused children, before pursuing her doctorate with research in adult psychosis psychiatry (Public Assistance of the Hospitals of Marseille, Pr. Naudin's department), with a dual psychoanalytical and phenomenological approach (thesis director: Albert Ciccone, jury members: Pr. René Roussillon, Pr. Jean Louis Pedinielli, Pr. Françoise Mélonio, Dr. Bernard Pachoud, Dr. Jean Vion-Dury). Her doctorate focused on the experience of time in psychosis.
She was a regular lecturer (TW and Lecture Courses) at the University Aix-Marseille I between 2004 and 2011 (around 200 hours of teaching/year), in Professor Jean-Louis Pedinielli's team, Lecture Courses and Tutorial work:
-
Introduction to Clinical Psychology (License 1)
-

Different approaches to psychopathology (Phenomenology, Systemic, Humanist, Psychoanalytic) (Master 1)
Between 2007 and 2010, she was a member of the group of scientific experts for educational and university publications at Aix-Marseille I University. She was a member of the “Ethics & deontology of corporate interventions” Watchdog Committee, “Field of Work” Commission, at the National Union of Psychologists (2009-2011).
She has given lectures and seminars on the themes of harassment, paranoia and authority to academics and healthcare professionals at universities in France and abroad (Universities of Aix-Marseille I, Aix-Marseille III, University of Oran in Algeria, Universities of Montreal and Quebec in Canada, Hospital Louis H. La Fontaine in Montreal, Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia).
Keenly interested in the ways in which psychopathology is expressed in the workplace, Ariane Bilheran quickly became a specialist in psychosocial risks, suffering in the workplace and harassment. Since 2007, she has been working with PME and Grands Comptes, carrying out audits and surveys on psychosocial risks and harassment in the workplace, as President and Project Manager Consultant of the company Sémiode.
There, she developed clinical investigation methods based on work-related psychopathology. For many years, she worked as a clinician specialized in suffering at work, listed in the directory of specialized clinicians of Marie PEZÉ's Network of Consultations on Pain and Work.
As an auditor and consultant, she worked in some fifty companies in different countries as a project manager/project director between 2007 and 2017 (assignments of between 1 and 3 months on a full-time basis, reports of 100 to 270 pages), in the sectors of telecommunications, metallurgy, aeronautics, IT, HR consulting, banking, catering, real estate, industry, electricity, civil service, healthcare, humanitarian aid and other associations.
She has carried out post-trauma debriefings in a variety of companies and institutions, particularly in the fast-food and banking (robbery) sectors.
She has produced civil and criminal forensic reports on cases of harassment, manipulation and psychological control in various countries, and has supported various cooperative projects (writing, colloquia, etc.) with lawyers and professors of criminal law on the subject, particularly on the question of intent in harassment cases.
His work on harassment earned him international recognition in the Who's Who in the World directory from 2010 and in Who's Who Science & Engineering from 2011.
Her research was used by the Senate on October 22, 2012 as part of a proposed law on religious harassment.
She has given numerous training courses (over forty) in institutions and companies on the following topics: psychopathology, clinical psychology, harassment, psychosocial risks, strategy, management, change, stress, suffering at work, individual and institutional violence, discrimination, group dynamics, team cohesion, adult and child psychoses, delusions, dealing with delinquency, authority, psychological development in early childhood, childhood and adolescence, childhood at risk, helping relationships, systemic approach, trauma, abuse, manipulation, dealing with sexual delinquency, raising awareness of psychosocial risks in detention and suicide prevention in detention.
The main sectors and target audiences were: educational and social associations, healthcare structures, doctors, prisons, the French Ministry of Education and Justice, local authorities, training organizations for educators, nurses and social workers, the hospital civil service and prestigious schools.
Since 2007, she has been practicing psychotherapy with individual patients in her own practice, and before leaving for South America in 2015, she was a supervisor in a variety of settings, in particular in associations, educational structures, occupational health services, hospital teams including mobile teams, and for the Ministry of Justice in the penitentiary field (supervisions within the PACA region of insertion and probation counselors for several years, training for penitentiary supervisors and social workers).
She has given hundreds of lectures and media interviews worldwide (press, radio, TV), where she has long been called upon to address the issues of harassment, paranoia and manipulation, for example in France on mainstream programs such as “Les Maternelles” on France 5, on February 05, 2008, or in various specialized press and magazines (e.g. Le Cercle Psy, Psychologies Magazines, Santé Mentale, Usine Nouvelle, Sciences Humaines, Liaisons sociales, Sociétal, etc.) with interviews such as “React to sexual harassment at work”, “We must anticipate harassment at work”, “Paranoia, a very poorly known disease”, “Encounter Ariane Bilheran to understand workplace harassment”, “Encounter with the Workplace Harassment Specialist” etc. ) as well as several times on Radio Canada in Canada, and even in Algeria in a national daily newspaper. She is the source of various conceptualizations of harassment as a collective pathology, in particular the notion of “delusional contagion”, “regressed groups”, the question of responsibility and intention, the differential diagnosis between perversion and paranoia, and group complicity in harassment. Ariane Bilheran has theorized about the type of terrain in which harassment can emerge: terrains without authority, either too authoritarian or too lax, and has developed her theory of the defense mechanisms present in occupational psychopathology when complaints of harassment emerge (whether founded or not).
She has published over 40 works in French, in literature, psychology and philosophy, some of which have been translated into foreign languages (Spanish, Korean, Romanian).
Her book Soyez Solaire! (Be Solar!) and Libérez-vous des personnalités toxiques (Free Yourself from Toxic Personalities) was widely acclaimed (before its publication in paperback), selected by France Loisirs Suisse, Club des Nouvelles Clés, Soy Workings Girls, among others, and is even quoted by novelist Nadine Monfils in her novel Ice Cream et Châtiments: “If you're surrounded by toxic people, read Soyez Solaire! (Be Solar!) by Ariane Bilheran, published by Payot. It's a brilliant book that gives you insights and keys by referring to mythology and fairy tales. Seriously, it's a nugget! The book has also been cited by fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus, as the book he says he never part with.
In South America, she has pursued her clinical activities, consulting in French and Spanish, working in the literary field of poetry, continuing her research work and devoting herself at the same time to the development of organic agriculture in tropical climates (tropical fruits and cocoa, among others), reforestation and soil reinforcement through ecosystem-friendly and non-polluting practices, bee-keeping in the Sierra Nevada, humanitarian actions with human beings and animals, hiking, playing the piano and her family life.
In France, she has written three books of poetry; in French, one of her poems was selected for the specialist magazine Jointure, and her poems were the subject of a joint exhibition with a painter at the Caisse d'Épargne Marseille. In Spanish, her collection won a competition in 2019 that led to the publication of her book Las Raíces de las piedras, as well as an invitation to the Bogota Book Festival in 2020.
Since 2017, Ariane Bilheran, who was already involved in child protection, has revealed in her book L'Imposture des droits sexuels (The Sexual Rights Imposture), a fraud at the root of the WHO's international texts concerning “sexual and reproductive rights” in their claim to govern children's development. This denunciation earned him numerous reprisals, slander campaigns and a certain ostracism, but also gave him experience of a certain type of scientific fraud in international bodies. It was in this direction that she sought, while intervening rapidly since April 2020 on the “Covid” crisis, which she described as a totalitarian drift in the political field. The results of her research into the origins of fraud and the indoctrination of the masses are recorded in a four-hander written with Vincent Pavan, a mathematics professor suspended by the University for his intellectual commitment to debate and truth: Le débat interdit (The debate forbidden) (published by Trédaniel, March 2022) and Psychopathologie du totalitarisme (Psychopathology of totalitarianism) (Trédaniel, 2023). Psychopathologie du totalitarisme (Psychopathology of totalitarianism) studies totalitarianism from the innovative angle of psychopathology. It is prefaced by Vera Sharav, Jewish Holocaust survivor and author of the documentary Never Again, and Slobodan Despot, editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine L'Antipresse, and award-winning novelist for his book Le Miel (Honey) (Gallimard). It is postfaced by journalist Senta Depuydt and lawyer Virginie de Araújo-Recchia. Ariane Bilheran was invited as an expert by the Corona Investigative Committee at session 78 on 12/11/2021 for her analysis of the mental pathologies that take power in a totalitarian regime, then by the Grand Jury magistrates to give her expertise on propaganda and indoctrination of the masses.
Ariane Bilheran has organized several symposia with various experts, including :
The “Totalitarian drift on children” symposium on May 13, 2023 in Paris.
Corsican on his mother's side, his family genealogy includes :
The eminent Abbé François Girolami-Cortona, author of Géographie générale de la Corse (1893) (General geography of Corsica), L'Histoire de la Corse (1906) (the history of Corsica), and Deux drames Canevalandro et Mannone, ou Histoire merveilleuse d'une jolie petite ville de l'île de Corse (1908) (Two dramas Canevalandro and Mannone, or Wonderful story of a pretty little town on the island of Corsica).

Andrée Girolami-Boulinier's books include:
Les niveaux actuels dans la pratique du langage oral et écrit (Masson, 1997) (Current levels of oral and written language practice), L'apprentissage de l'oral et de l'écrit (PUF, 1993) (Learning oral and written), Prévention Dyslexie Dysorthographie (Delachaux et Niestlé, 1992) (Prevention Dyslexia Dysorthographia), Prévention de la dyslexie et de la dysorthographie dans le cadre normal des activités scolaires (Delachaux et Niestlé, 1974) (Prevention of dyslexia and dysorthographia as part of normal school activities), Acquisition du vocabulaire. A plaque commemorating Andrée Girolami-Boulinier is located at Hospital Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, and in front of her former home in Issy-Les-Moulineaux.
Her father, Jean-Claude Bilheran, who has Occitan roots, is a retired professor of Classics and author of Sous l'écorce by Guy Debord (Sens & Tonka, 2007) (Under the bark), La tortue (Turtle) (Sens & Tonka, 2008), Libelle de l'imbécillité (Libelle of the stupidity) (Sens & Tonka, 2011), La paresse et la gloire (Laziness and glory) (Le temps qu'il fait, 2017).
Committed to serving the human soul, Ariane Bilheran reminds us that psychology is the science of the soul; she is a psychotherapist and author of psychology, philosophy and literature. She draws her inspiration from the works of the ancient Greeks and Romans, particularly the Stoics. Concerned with balance, she doesn't deny the need for power but believes that every power must have a counter-power to avoid tyrannical crystallizations and confiscations.
Having grown up in Saint-Denis (93), in a working-class Parisian suburb where multi-origin, multi-religion and multicultural groups all lived together in political and social exclusion, with (rather Marxist) parents who had taken on a social mission (to pass on education to the excluded to give them the means to defend themselves intellectually), having navigated the social classes from the poorest to the richest, and having traveled on different continents, Ariane Bilheran values what humanizes, i.e. the points of universality present in every human being, whatever their culture, religion, origin or skin color.
She is a pianist and a member of a small orchestra she organized, and believes that instead of talking about sexuality from the earliest age, as recommended by the WHO for children's education (cf. her book L'imposture des droits sexuels)(The imposture of sexual rights), it's musical education that should be prioritized among children, especially at an early age, because in music, it's necessary to find ways to harmonize with others, and beautiful music lifts the soul, and is a search for unity.
She believes that the distortions between capital and labor are not necessarily obsolete when it comes to thinking about certain aspects of the current crisis. Her bedside books include The Iliad and The Odyssey, Cicero's Tusculanes, the works of Plato, Montaigne, Hegel, Hannah Arendt, Flaubert and Dostoyevsky.
Ariane Bilheran disapproves of any ideology of a “clean slate”, a “new man”, a “new world”, a “new normal”, seeing it as a totalitarian response to a psychotic anguish of collapse.
In France today, she believes it is necessary to rethink the foundations of the social bond and the social contract, and to re-establish forms of transmission based on the knowledge of the Ancients and the foundations of our Greco-Roman culture. For her, psychic life must also conform to three principles of humanist medicine: detoxification (e.g., from media propaganda, blackmail, fear, etc.), nourishment (knowing how to choose what nourishes the soul, good books, good music, etc.), and repair (especially traumatic experiences). An enthusiast of Greek mythology, she sees in it a considerable field of investigation into human psychology, as evidenced by her book Vaincre ses monstres intérieurs par la mythologie (Defeat his inner monsters by mythology)(Leduc), and other publications on myths.
She promotes the need for intellectual, moral, emotional and spiritual resistance to the dehumanization that is imposed on us with increasing violence every day, and which manifests itself through the meticulous and programmed destruction of childhood innocence. She now devotes her time to producing expert reports, writing columns for various media and passing on her research through her books, conferences, workshops and seminars.
